Monday, June 28, 2010: O Fim Se Aproxima...

Well family, not much new stuff.
We've been teaching some good people. We had to let go of a couple of people because they dont want to get married/stop smoking... Always hard when you have to do that becasue they become people you love.
The US is out of the World Cup... As I had many people tell me. Today Brasil is playing. Basically the world shuts down for the games. CRAZY.
It's been raining raining raining. There was flooding in the south of Pernambuco (which is the state we're in). Basically wiped the whole town out. Literally. So the church has been sending a lot of help down there. The members here are AWESOME--so many people volunteering and helping out and donating clothes and stuff (see attached pictures... Sis Lindsey and I had some fun modeling the donated clothing... Perhaps a little TOO much fun...).
It was also São João, which is a HUGE holiday here in Brasil, and especially the Nordeste. There were lots of bonfires and loud music called forró. Pretty crazy. Combined with the bug spray we always wear, I really felt like I was camping. Just missed the marshmallows, hahaha.
Well, next week, we'll have some good baptism pictures! (Fell this week because he went to another state for são joão... I hate holidays on the mission)
For now, enjoy the picture of me making French toast!
Até mais!
